Primers : What I’ve been trying this month…

Hey Internet Friends,

I don’t think its any secret that sometimes your make up just doesn’t want to stay put. And that can seriously ruin anyones day! I love a good primer, I feel like without a primer I’m never fully ‘done’ and always have to check my make up and touch it up. Im also constantly on the look out for the best primer option so i’ve tried three primers this month and I would like to share my experiences with you!

Benefit Pore fessional Primer
benefitporeI think everyone who has ever watched a youtube video, read a beauty blog or gone into a make up shop will have been told that Benefit’s Pore sessional is the bee’s knees. This Primer claims to be suitable for all skin types and is not drying or oily and it lives up to these claims.

You can use this below foundation as you would normal primers or on top of make up to reduce shine and tackle those extra difficult pores.
I’ve been trying this product for around a week and although I do like it, for the price I have to confess Im not as blown away as I thought I would be.
The product is flesh coloured and a little goes a long way and it does reduce pores significantly.
Although I don’t think this product is the best primer I’ve ever tried in terms of keeping my make up on all day. I noticed after about 6 hours my foundation was going patchy around my nose and forehead which is really annoying, especially when you consider the price tag.
Sorry Benefit, I still love you!

No7 Stay Perfect Primer
no7This product claims to use light reflecting particles to help disguise fine lines and flaws, while oil absorbing Biopol helps minimise blemishes and blot away shine without blocking pores.
This primer is more of a cream consistency and applies so easily, it also feels great on the skin which is a huge plus.
I have noticed a difference in my make up lasting power after using this product and don’t tend to get patches or shine which for me is a miracle.
The only thing I will say about this product is that you need to use a lot to get a decent result from it which can leave your skin feeling a little heavy. I would actually repurchase this but I do feel it is more appropriate for perhaps an evening look when you really want to feel done up than an everyday product.

The Body Shop All in One Installer Universal
bodshopThis product promises to blur imperfections, giving you flawless photo-perfect skin in an instant and it does exactly what it promises.
I absolutely love this product, so much that I recommended it to my glam grandma and she now loves it too.
The texture can take a while to get used too as it is more of a gel but once you get around that you can really see the results.
Your skin literally looks blurred and the pores just vanish, it also does hold my make up well over 10 hours.
I cant speak highly enough about this product, for the price its a miracle find. I love the results and I love the way it makes my skin feel.
My only slight and I mean slight negative with this product is the packaging. Why body shop did you make it white?
It gets ridiculously grubby so fast!

What Primers have you been loving recently?
Do you have any recommendations for me? I love trying new products!

So glad to hear you positive review on TBS Instablur. I’ve been eyeing this for quite some time now and reviews have been slightly mixed, though mostly positive. Yours, however, has given me reason enough to purchase it next time I pass by a TBS outlet! ❤
